When Lady Julianne Gatewick realizes the rake of her dreams thinks of her as practically his sister, she decides it's time to get even. The charming Marc Darcett, Earl of Hawkfield, is every lady's fantasy, but he's determined to evade virgins and their matrimonial traps - especially his best friend's sister.

Hawk reluctantly agrees to be Julianne's guardian for the season, but he's having trouble resisting his gorgeous ward. Worse still, she's taunting him by flirting with every scoundrel in London - and he's sworn to protect her! Certain she's learned her tricks from the authoress of that scandalous publication "The Secrets of Seduction", Hawk sets out to uncover the writer's identity. But he never expects to find the formerly angelic Julianne behind the mask - and between his sheets.
How to Seduce a Scoundrel sounded so good! The best friend with the little sister? Sounds naughty!

Julianne have been in love with Hawk since she was a kid. So when he agrees to be her guardian for the season, she's excited and wants to use this opportunity for him to notice her.

Hawk agrees to be Julianne's guardian because he cares for his best friend and her. After all, she's like a sister to him. Of course, he wasn't expecting to feel something more for her...

Hawk was the typical bad boy, alpha male. He expects everyone to do as he says, specially Julianne. Obviously he's going to change at some point of the story, but I wasn't expecting such a radical change! He doesn't want to marry and prefer to live an irresponsible life, but he starts to have feelings for Julianne and he really wants to be with her.

Julianne is young and beautiful, but sometimes a little childish. She thinks Hawk is going to fall in love with her immediately, but when she realizes he isn't what she thought, it's disappointing. She's angry, with herself and him, and decides to write "The Secrets of Seduction", so women like her can have any men they want.

I really wanted them to be together. They had a spark, and I loved how naughty was Hawk with her. But I was disappointed with the love scenes, I thought they could have been more romantic, or longer. I hate reading a scene and feeling like it's a biology description. I prefer sensual descriptions, as where he touched her o kissed her, etc. I know this is extremely difficult, but the author was doing a great job with the previous kissing and touching.

But the plot was good. It had many twists, most of them surprising and it didn't let me sleep until I finished it. I was expecting more of Julianne's publication, since the synopsis of the book says "Hawk sets out to uncover the writer's identity", but that was kind of overshadowed by other things that happened to the characters.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I understand this one is a sequel to How to Marry a Duke, but you don't need to read it first to understand it.
