The Haunting of Apartment 101 by Margaret Atwood-ESSENTIAL

Atwood, Margaret, The Haunting of Apartment 101.  Darbycreek, 2012. Pgs. 107. Language: G, Violence PG, Sexual Content: G

Jinx is a paranormal investigator with attitude. Her only friend, Jackson, is her partner. For their first case, pretty, popular, Emily asks the duo to solve the haunting going on in her apartment. Jackson is eager to take the case, but Jinx doesn’t trust Emily. Can Jinx put aside her mistrust and solve the case?

A quick, engaging read for reluctant readers. The plot moves quickly, the characters are easy to like, and the author does a great job of mixing humor with horror in a very unique way. Readers who like mystery, horror, and ghost hunting will easily connect with the main characters and enjoy going along for the ride. EL (5-6), MS, HS. ESSENTIAL.
