Ready to Wear (Sew Zoey Book #1) by Chloe Taylor –ADVISABLE

Taylor, Chloe Ready to Wear (Sew Zoey Book #1)  176 pgs. Simon Spotlight, 2013. $11.58. Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G; Violence: G.
Zoey is way into fashion, and over summer break she sketches her own clothing designs. When her two best friends, Priti and Kate help her start a fashion blog, it propels Zoey into putting her ideas into action. Zoey might get a chance to show off her new sewing skills at a school fashion show.
Although the main characters are in middle school, I feel like this series is for much younger readers, perfect for 3rd or 4th graders. The characters are well developed. The plot is interesting and even inspirational for fashion inclined students. My only qualm is the 70’s style art on the cover, not appealing at all. The plot is so modern –blogging, extremely current fashion trends –the cover should promote that.
