An Agent's Inbox

Well, as the last two weeks have stretched on, we've received a handful of random form rejections, but mostly just...quiet.

In fact, more than half of our queries (and the full, obviously) have gone dark and stayed dark. No rejection, no reply, just...nothing.

Apparently, August may not have been the best time to query. Agents tend to go on vacation around now, so they'll often just let their inboxes overflow until they get back, and when they do get back they have so many emails to sort through it takes them forever to get back to you. Whoops. Live and learn. Good thing we didn't blast out ALL the agents in our list at once.

In the meantime, we've entered a contest called "An Agent's Inbox" over at Krista's awesome blog.Query + first 250 words + cranky agent = Hilarity. Or heart-wrenching destruction. One of those two. But after all, isn't that all just part of the fun of being a writer?
