Dinosoaring by Deb Lund - OPTIONAL

Lund, Deb  Dinosoaring  Illustrated by Howard Fine  Harcourt Children’s Books, 2012.  $16.99  PICTURE BOOK  Content: G.

In this colorful children’s book a group of dinosaurs load themselves into a large airplane and try to take for the skies.  At first they can’t get the plane of the ground because they all weigh too much, but with some effort they get the plane into the air.  While flying they see an airshow in progress and so they decide to participate by doing air stunts.  The dinosaurs get very dizzy from their air tricks and they parachute to the ground.  They kiss the ground and then begin looking for their next adventure.

The illustrations are colorful and fun, especially for kids who like both airplanes and dinosaurs.  The storyline rhymes, which makes it a fun read-aloud.  The front and back cover label the correct names of the different dinosaurs depicted throughout the book.  Overall this is a good book for kids who like the subjects of flying and dinosaurs, but the story wasn’t anything great.
