God speed, Lil' Queries!

Well, off they go. After agonizing for weeks on this thing, we just officially sent off our first queries!

It's a little weird, actually. We've been working on this manuscript for a year and a half now, and this will be the first time someone in the actual publishing industry will see it. We're half excited, and half terrified.

It's all here in this pamphlet.

Actually, to be honest, as the minutes tick past since we've hit that fateful Send button, the excitement is being gradually beaten back, inch by inch by the stampeding hordes of Terror. It's a little bit like watching your kid climb onto a school bus for their first day of kindergarten. Except, you know, instead of a school bus, it's a helicopter. And instead of kindergarten, she's being airdropped into a warzone where everyone's trying to kill her.

OK kids, remember what Mommy taught you. Aim for the face, then the genitals.

But we have to be realistic here. Absolutely everyone that attempts to make it in this industry dreams of their first attempts being wild successes, with big fat envelopes stuffed with cash arriving in their mailbox shortly afterwards. We're not that naive. This is a tough industry. And if it were that easy to make it, everyone would have done it already.

Still...I could do a lot with that fat envelope of cash...
