Ryder is trying to do his job as the man of the house by taking care of the family, but he is very disappointed in his mother's selfishness to not care about her children. Falpian has been sent to a house on the outskirts of the country, to not be where his father has to see him, right next to the boarder to the enemy's country. These two boys come together from opposite sides of a war that never really ended to prevent it from picking back up.
While I expected some mystery involved and suspected what was going on, I never imagined such thrilling plot twists than the ones found in Witchlanders. They seemed to come one after another and add to the depth of the characters and made the action so much more intense. If the sequel is half as exciting, it will be worth reading and rereading.
