Chloe and the Lion by Mac Barnett-ESSENTIAL

Barnett, Mac, ill. by Adam Rex, Chloe and the Lion. Disney Hyperion, 2012. pgs. 48.  PICTURE BOOK.

When Chloe takes a walk in the woods, she meets a lion. Her author and illustrator, however, can’t agree on whether or not it should be a lion. Can the two agree on what the animal she faces is long enough to finish her picture book?

A cute, unique story with lots of twists and turns that make the book humorous. The illustrations are really cute and fun to follow. The dialogue is well-done and easy-to-follow. Children of all ages will enjoy reading this book or having it read to them. Pre-K, EL(K-3), EL (4-6), MS. ESSENTIAL. Reviewer: Kira Moody, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public Library.
