Sealed With a Kiss by Robin Palmer-ADVISABLE

Palmer, Robin, Sealed with a Kiss. Puffin Books, 2010. Pgs. 219. Language: G, Violence: G, Sexual Content: PG

When she Lucy B. Parker goes with her soon-to-be stepsister, Laurel, while she’s filming in California, Lucy can’t wait to spend time with her and see places she’s only ever dreamed of seeing. When they get to California, however, Laurel spends all of her non-filming time with her agent or with her new beau, Austin, or acting mean to Lucy. Soon she feels alone and without any friends in a new state. Can Lucy find a way to bring Laurel to her senses? Is Lucy’s friendship with Laurel over?

A funny chick-lit for reluctant readers. The characters are well-developed and likable. The plot is complex, interesting, and well-written. Readers who like realistic fiction, Hollywood settings, and humor will enjoy reading this book. EL (4-6), MS. ADVISABLE. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian, WHI Public Library.
