Just Grace and the Terrible Tutu by Charise Mericle Harper - ESSENTIAL

Harper, Charise Mericle  Just Grace and the Terrible Tutu Houghton Mifflan, 2011. 166 pages.  Content: G.  Grace’s best friend , Mimi, is preparing for a new sister that her parents are trying to adopt.  Conveniently, there is a new family moving in next door to Grace that has a little girl named Lily.  The new family needs a mother’s helper and they hire Grace and Mimi.  Lily takes to Grace, but not to Mimi.  Mimi starts to doubt whether or not she is going to be a good sister.  Because Grace is a great best friend, she sets up a scenario for Mimi and Lily to learn more about each other and become good friends.  Mimi has her confidence restored and Grace has her happy best friend back.

This is a cute book about friendship and problem solving.  The cartoon illustrations throughout are also fun.
