A Black Hole is Not a Hole by Carolyn DeCristofano - OPTIONAL

DeCristofano, Carolyn Cinami A Black Hole is Not a Hole.  Charlesbridge, 2012.  $18.95. Content: G. PICTURE BOOK.

A black hole is NOT a hole – at least not the kind you can dig in the ground or poke your finger through.  So, if a black hole is NOT a hole…what is it, where do they come from, how were they discovered, what make a black hole so powerful, where’s the nearest black hole and can I visit one?  These as well as many others will be answered in this book.

This book is information based yet enjoyable to read with lots of pictures.  It includes a glossary, time line, author’s notes and resources.  This would be a great book for an introduction or companion when teaching a science unit on Black Holes.
