The Tangled Webs of Spiderman by Nichie Castro-ADVISABLE

Castro, Nachie, The Tangled Webs of Spiderman. Marvel, 2012. Pgs. 116. Language: G, Violence: PG, Sexual Content: G

When his parents left Peter in the care of his aunt and uncle, his father and mother left without a trace, only leaving their son a briefcase to be given to him when he was old enough to understand. While trying to catch the attention of a girl at school, Peter is also trying to solve the mystery of the briefcase. The briefcase leads him to the labs of his father’s former partner, Dr. Curt Connors. What is Connors hiding? What happened to his father and mother?  One thing’s for sure Peter will need both his identities to conquer these problems.
A great movie novelization for superhero fans. The story is more complex and entertaining than the usual Spiderman books. The images from the film in the middle and the web drawings on each page are fun to look at. Readers who like Spiderman, mystery, and film-based books will enjoy reading this book. EL (4-6). ADVISABLE. Reviewer: Kira M, Youth Services Librarian.
