Nobody Asked the Pea by John Stewig - ADVISABLE

Stewig, John Warren Nobody Asked the Pea, illustrated by Cornelius Van Wright.  Holiday House, 2013.  $17.  Content: G.  PICTURE BOOK.

The story of The Princess and the Pea told through a series of interviews with the cast of characters involved in the story, including, of course, the pea.  It’s a cute twist on a familiar tale – as long as the kids are already familiar with the original.  If not, it will just be confusing.  Join this with the original for a lesson on point of view.  Use it as a lead in for students to take any other familiar tale and write some other point of view interviews.
