Galdone, Paul Jack and the Beanstalk, PICTURE BOOK. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 1974. $8.99. Content: G
The classic fairy tale begins with Jack’s mother finding sixpence and sending him to the market to buy a goose, but Jack instead buys a magic bean. Although his mother doesn’t approve what they find at the top of the beanstalk from the magic bean does meet his mother’s approval. This isn’t the version I remember, but it’s great nonetheless.
