Gooey Goblins (Candy Fairies Halloween Special) By Helen Perelman –OPTIONAL

Perelman, Helen Gooey Goblins (Candy Fairies Halloween Special) 176 pgs. Aladdin, 2013. $12.51.  Content: Language: G (0 swears); Mature Content: G; Violence: G.
There is unrest when the fairies discover that the gummy trees in the Sugar Valley are melting. When a Troll tells them that it’s a Goblin, they are filled with terror. But five brave Candy Fairies step up to help solve the problem. They must sail across the Vanilla Sea where a dreaded sea serpent lives. But what they discover is going to take all their bravery and candy!
This book is on my worst reads ever list, in fact reading it may have given me cavities. Yet, you can see my rating is optional. That is because I think students will enjoy this book, with its incredibly sickly sweet wholesome fairies. It can’t hurt to have it in your library, but I don’t recommend reading it yourself, as an adult, ever.
