Carina Conte has had a crush on her brother Michael’s best friend, Max Gray, since she was a teenager. Now she’s earned her MBA and come to work at Michael’s new venture, America’s fastest-growing bakery empire. But some things never change: her family still treats her like a child. With three drop-dead gorgeous siblings, she’s still the ugly duckling of the bunch. And Max, the company’s new CEO, still barely notices her.

Max knows Carina Conte is strictly off limits. But hot-blooded lust wins out at a conference when the two share a scorching one-night stand—and are busted by her mother! Now, forced by old-world Italian tradition into a marriage he’s not ready for, Max is miserable—and Carina is furious. Her new husband is about to realize that hell hath no fury like a woman transformed….
I read The Marriage Bargain, first book of the Marriage to a Billionare series, a while ago and really liked it. So when I saw The Marriage Mistake at Netgalley, I couldn't wait to read it! I didn't realize I missed the second book until I was half done with this, but obviously it's now on my to-be-read shelf.

I love a good brother's friend and little sister romance, it's always adventurous to fall in love behind everyone's back. Carina is the youngest of her house, and everyone threats her as a child, even her childhood crush Max. But she's ready to make everyone clear, specially Max, that she's now a woman.

Carina was kind of a young me. She knew what she wanted, but didn't know how to get it! Max has been her constant crush and seeing him again is making her crazy. Making him jealous is a great game, until things get out of control.

Max ended being my favorite character. He always liked Carina, but his loyalty to his friend keep him back. He gets jealous when she's with other men, so when she ask him for just one wild and passionate night, he finally accepts.

Of course none of them were planning to be discovered by Carina's mother. Personally, I didn't thought it was realistic the way her mother acted. Why make them get married? And why did they accepted it so easily? I know her family is very traditional but, people still do that?

Anyway, it was a great story. I liked the way Carina finally found herself and that Max was brave enough to keep her. It meant big changes to them, but it was so obvious they were meant to be together.

Overall, if you are looking for passionate love stories, you should definitely try the Marriage to a Billionaire series.

Book Review: The Marriage Bargain (Marriage to a Billionaire #1) by Jennifer Probst

Series: Marriage to a Billionaire #1
Author: Jennifer Probst
Release Date: February 13th 2012
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Age: Adult
A marriage in name only…
To save her family home, impulsive bookstore owner, Alexa Maria McKenzie, casts a love spell. But she never planned on conjuring up her best friend’s older brother—the powerful man who once shattered her heart.
Billionaire Nicholas Ryan doesn’t believe in marriage, but in order to inherit his father’s corporation, he needs a wife and needs one fast. When he discovers his sister’s childhood friend is in dire financial straits, he’s offers Alexa a bold proposition.
A marriage in name only with certain rules: Avoid entanglement. Keep things all business. Do not fall in love. The arrangement is only for a year so the rules shouldn’t be that hard to follow, right?
I discovered  The Marriage Bargain at and the synopsis interested me. Romance between a billionaire and his sister's childhood friend? I'm in!

Alexa McKenzie needs money and fast, so the best solution is to find a rich husband. Nicholas Ryan needs a wife and fast, so when Maggie, his sister, recommends him to marry Alexa (and pay her in advance), he accepts. They haven't seen each other in years, but he still remember their first kiss.

They have both grown up and their life are very different, but they can barely keep their hands off each other. After all, they are married. But sex leads to feelings, and this is only a business arrangement.

Alexa is fun! I loved her attitude toward her family and Nick, and her sweet heart to save dogs from the shelter. Nick is different, he didn't have a good childhood and doesn't believe in love, but he found in Alexa a person who was strong enough to give him time and space and who actually could love him.

I loved The Marriage Bargain. Alexa and Nick were a sweet couple, they had their hot explosive moments, and I enjoyed the author's writing. I read it in just one day, and even when it didn't have the surprise factor, I really want to read the second book from the series, The Marriage Trap, which is going to be released June 15th 2012.
